Ray Wimley

is a New Orleans based husband, father, poet, hip-hop artist, songwriter, and improvisational street performer. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas where he first found his love of music through church. During his Undergraduate studies at the University of New Orleans, he founded Open Mind, an organization that gave him and his peers a stage to express themselves musically.

Ray was the 2016 winner of the Roux Carré New Orleans Talent Search and had a regular street show downtown New Orleans. He performs from his studio mixtape Responseibilities and often freestyles solo or in collaboration with fellow local musicians. He is also featured in a short documentary, 3 AM on Frenchmen, premiering in May 2019 at the Harlem International Film Festival, the Independent Filmmakers Showcase ihn Los Angeles, and the Nice International Film Festival.
